Dave and Marge Lodge Golf Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation
This scholarship, established by Marjorie Lodge in memory of her husband Dave Lodge — an enthusiastic golfer — is intended to assist a member of a Hancock County high school golf team.
About Dave Lodge
A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Dave Lodge completed his secondary education at Robinson High School in Illinois and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. After his military service, he joined Marathon Oil Company in 1946 as a salesman and progressed through several roles, including Supervisor and Department Manager of Marketing and General Sales, International Representative for Marketing and Transportation, and Director of Trading and Transportation Supply. He retired in 1983 as Manager of Supply and Marine Transportation. He was active in the First Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Findlay Skeet Club, Findlay Country Club, Robinson Lodge No. 250 F. & A.M., and the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo.
Eligibility
- Must be a graduating senior from a Hancock County high school.
- Must have participated in school and community activities.
- Must be enrolling full time as a freshman in a four-year college program.
- Must have played golf for a Hancock County high school for at least two years.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
- Preference will be given to a member of the Findlay High School golf team who meets the above criteria and plans to pursue a degree in a mathematics or science field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Hancock County.
- Financial need is not a factor in the selection process.
- Students who already receive a full-tuition scholarship from an educational institution or organization should not apply.
