Empowering Families Scholarship

Introduction
The Empowering Families Scholarship awards $1,000 per semester to undergraduate students who plan to pursue a career in family law. Family law practitioners must combine empathetic client counseling with the determination to vigorously advocate for clients facing difficult matters such as divorce or child custody disputes. This scholarship supports students preparing to guide families through Texas’s family law system.
Eligibility
Applicants for the Spring 2025 Empowering Families Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a pre-law program or studying toward a pre-law curriculum.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Be currently enrolled or will be enrolled for the Spring 2025 semester.
- Be a permanent resident of the United States.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
Application requirements
To complete an application, candidates must submit a 90-second video essay and provide documentation of the following:
- Proof of current undergraduate enrollment at a college or university.
- Confirmation of a pre-law course of study.
- Official or unofficial documentation verifying GPA.
