Sterling Welch Scholars Grant
Scholarship Sponsored by American Osteopathic Foundation
In 1965, the Sterling K. Welch, DO, Fund was initiated by the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) through a bequest from Dr. Welch's estate. The fund was created to honor Dr. Welch's remarkable generosity towards the AOF and his passion for supporting Osteopathic medical students and advancing education. The primary aim of this grant is to provide financial assistance to Osteopathic medical students.
Initially, the scholarship was awarded to a single student each year. However, it has since expanded to offer one scholarship per College/School of Osteopathic Medicine (COM/SOM).
Objective
The scholarship is granted annually to Osteopathic medical students who demonstrate substantial financial need (as recognized by COMs/SOMs), exhibit strong academic performance, participate in volunteer service activities, and show a deep commitment to the field of Osteopathic medicine.
