ACP Foundation College Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Adam Charles Ports Foundation

The Adam Charles Ports Foundation offers significant scholarships to further the academic education of individuals who have trained in the martial arts. Scholarship awards begin at $1,000. Since its inception, the ACP Foundation has awarded $768,000 in scholarships to deserving students who have trained in the martial arts.

In 2024, the ACP Foundation awarded 22 scholarships totaling $87,000! Thank you to all of our donors and sponsors who have contributed.

Qualifications

1. Applicant must have at least one year of training in any style of martial arts.
2. Applicant must be a resident of the State of Ohio or be an undergraduate with a permanent address in Ohio and currently enrolled in a school of higher learning.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the ACP Foundation College Scholarship, you must:

• Have completed at least one year of training in any style of Martial Arts.
• Be a resident of the State of Ohio or an undergraduate with a permanent address in Ohio.
• Complete and submit all items listed on the Scholarship Application Checklist.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Scholarships will be awarded in October 2025. Scholarship monies will be disbursed directly to the school of higher learning. Prior to disbursement, the ACP Foundation will need the recipient’s Social Security number and student ID number. Scholarship fund distribution takes place during winter quarter or winter semester, in time for spring tuition.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CHECKLIST

• Application: Fill out the Scholarship Application Form.
• Proof of Enrollment: Include an official letter of acceptance to a college, university or vocational school OR a class registration list showing the courses for which you are registered next term.
• Letter of Recommendation: Include a letter of recommendation from your martial arts instructor.
• Personal Statement: Include one page about yourself.
• Essay: Write an essay that is 2-3 pages, double-spaced on the topic listed on the Scholarship Application Form.
• Checklist: Complete and include this checklist.
• Submit Completed Application by July 31, 2025
