JFLF’s Welding Awards Program

Introduction The JFLF Welding Awards Program promotes arc welding education, creativity, and technical progress across all learning stages—from 4‑H and middle/high school programs to collegiate programs. In addition to honoring student work, the program recognizes outstanding instructors and professional welders who teach or contribute to the scientific development and advancement of arc welding. By awarding both hands‑on welding projects and technical papers, the program encourages emerging talent now and helps move the welding field forward for future practitioners. Who may enter Division I project submissions are open to any student aged 18 or younger who is currently enrolled in a school or an approved training program. What you may submit Entrants must submit a written report describing a completed arc welding project. Acceptable projects include: - Fabricated structures - Repair work - Items built for home, farm, shop, or recreational use Team entries and approval Projects may be completed individually or as part of a student team. Teams may include no more than five students and must have the endorsement of an instructor. Judging and advancement Division I submissions are first evaluated at the regional level. Regional winners then advance to compete for national awards.
