Overview
- A single application covers eligibility for every scholarship administered by the Grays Harbor Community Foundation. Our scholarship committee reviews submitted applications and assigns each recipient to the specific award that best matches their background and the donor’s criteria.
- Scholarships prioritize undergraduate study at accredited two- or four-year colleges or universities and vocational/technical programs that result in a license or certification. Awarded programs and institutions must be located within the United States; we cannot disburse funds to international schools.

If you live in Grays Harbor County, are a graduate of a Grays Harbor County high school, or previously graduated from a local high school and plan to pursue an undergraduate or vocational program, you are invited to apply. Applications are accepted through March 1 each year and must be submitted by 5:00 PM on that date.

Who is eligible
All applicants must meet these baseline requirements:
- Be a resident of Grays Harbor County OR be a graduate of a Grays Harbor County high school.
- Submit a complete application that follows the instructions in the online application.
- Request renewals online each year to continue receiving funding (scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years).
- Note: a renewal may be postponed for one year only. After that one-year deferral, you must submit a full application again to be considered.

Selection criteria
In addition to meeting the basic eligibility items above, applicants should demonstrate strong character, a solid work ethic, and the potential to contribute positively to their community. These qualities are assessed by the scholarship review committee using the materials provided in the application—personal essay, resume, transcripts, and other supporting information.

Renewals and duration of awards
- All scholarships may be renewed for up to three additional years (for a possible total of four years), although renewal amounts can vary by award.
- Renewal requests and submission of a current college transcript must be completed online and received on or before March 1 each year.
- Awards can be applied to tuition, room and board, required fees, and necessary supplies.

Recent impact
In 2024 the Grays Harbor Community Foundation distributed more than $950,000 in scholarships to deserving undergraduate and vocational students from Grays Harbor County.

- Complete one online application through our application portal; that single submission will be considered for all eligible awards.
- You must upload an unofficial transcript as part of your online application for it to be considered complete.
- We do not accept materials sent by mail or email; all documents must be uploaded within the Akoya GoApply system.
