ALPA offers an annual college scholarship opportunity specifically for eligible children of its pilot members.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be the child of an ALPA pilot member who is medically retired, long-term disabled, or deceased.
- While the award is primarily intended for students entering college as freshmen, current college students who meet the eligibility criteria may also apply.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a course of study that counts primarily toward a bachelor’s degree.
Scholarship Awards
- One four-year undergraduate scholarship is granted each year. Its total value is $60,000, paid as $15,000 per year for up to four consecutive years, contingent upon the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA).
- One one-year undergraduate scholarship of $10,000 is also awarded annually.
Application and Selection
- Complete applications must be received by April 1.
- Applicants must submit all sections of the online application (Parts 1, 2, and 3).
- Recipients are chosen by the ALPA Vice President–Administration/Secretary together with the Vice President–Finance/Treasurer, with selections finalized by July 31 each year.
